An Unforgettable 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training exclusively for women in the heart of Northern Alaska

~only 6 spots available~

Dive deep into yoga philosophy, meditation, asana, anatomy, kriya, energy medicine yoga and more over two weekends online and 12 incredible days in person, in the heart of Alaska's Brooks Range.

Arctic Hive is as close to nature as you can get, 63 miles north of the Arctic Circle from the comfort of our cabins and wilderness lodge.

This experience will change your life.

Hi there, I'm Mollie... and this fall, I'm inviting you into our home, here at Arctic Hive.

In addition to two weekends we'll spend together on Zoom, you and five other women will travel to far Northern Alaska to experience what few people in the world will ever get to see (let alone, explore): The glory of Alaska’s arctic Brooks Range from our basecamp and the northernmost yoga studio in America.

Teaching yoga is my life's work, and I'm honored to steward aspiring yoga teachers through their journey in 200-hour yoga teacher trainings. It's not a responsibility I take lightly, and our entire center here at Arctic Hive has been hand crafted to support our natural surroundings so that the yoga and meditation tradition/lineage is absorbed fully and completely.

Practicing yoga this close to Mother Nature is a dream come true... will you join us this fall?

Dates

This program is an intensive program for women with three parts — two bookend weekends on Zoom, with a 12-day all inclusive retreat to Arctic Hive in the middle. Upon completion of all three parts, you will be ready to register as an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance upon completion of this training, through Yoga Hive Studios.

DATES:
  • Thursday July 29 - Sunday August 1, 2021 — LIVE on Zoom from wherever you are
  • August 25 - September 5, 2021 — All inclusive training retreat at Arctic Hive
  • Thursday September 30 - Sunday October 3, 2021 — LIVE on Zoom from wherever you are

TIMES:

Both Zoom Weekend Schedules:
  • Thursdays, 2-6pm AK / 4-8pm MST / 6-10pm EST
  • Fridays, 2-6pm AK / 4-8pm MST / 6-10pm EST
  • Saturday, 5:30am-3:30pm AK / 7:30-5:30 MST / 9:30-7:30 EST
  • Sunday,  5:30am-3:30pm AK / 7:30-5:30 MST / 9:30-7:30 EST

Retreat:
  • We begin the morning of August 25th, and we conclude in the evening on September 5th.
  • You will arrive to Arctic Hive by the evening of the 24th, and depart on September 6th by either driving yourself to Wiseman Alaska (not for the faint of heart!), flying into Coldfoot, or catching a shuttle with Northern Alaska Tour Company (NATC).
  • Your travel costs to Wiseman are not included in the training price. We are happy to help you coordinate your rides and flights to assure you get where you need to be as on time as possible. If you're dropped off in Coldfoot (about 30 minutes down the Dalton Highway from Wiseman), we can help get you to Arctic Hive from there, free of charge.
  • You will have lodging and meals provided starting August 24th (dinner, available at staggered times as everyone arrives), and through breakfast on September 6th.
This fall, travel seven hours away from the nearest grocery store, cross the arctic circle, and travel 63 more miles north to the village of Wiseman. There, you’ll get the chance to see the Northern Lights, in an area deemed as having some of the best northern light displays in the world.

(And with the midnight sun out all summer eclipsing our view of the Aurora Borealis, once the darkness returns around August 21st, we start seeing the Northern Lights once again!)

Location:

  • Arctic Hive is located in Wiseman, Alaska
  • Airport to fly into is Fairbanks International Airport (Alaska Airlines is typically the cheapest!)
  • From there, you can fly to Coldfoot through Wright Air, take a tour bus with one of the few tour companies that drive north, or drive yourself along the Dalton Highway. We can arrange to pick you up in Coldfoot Camp if you can't get to Wiseman!

Who is this experience for?

You! Yes, you. If you found your way here, if you identify as a woman, and you're still reading this page... we're talking to you, dear friend.

Women who feel the call for an epic adventure and deep dive into the yogic tradition are welcome to join this one-of-a-kind 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. There are only SIX spots available for this adventure of a lifetime.

Join us if you are interested in the time-tested spiritual map that yoga outlined thousands of years ago. Or if you want to know more about the physical and mental healing that yoga can produce. Or if you want to see a part of the world that is so quiet, so untouched by civilization, so powerful to feel with your own eyes and ears. Beginners and experts are welcome — although you must be comfortable hiking for 1-4 miles in a day on uneven and potentially hilly terrain. You do not need to have a desire to teach yoga upon concluding this training... many people take teacher trainings just for the self study aspect, and diving deeper into your personal practice.

All we ask of every trainee is to come as you are, with an open mind and a willing spirit!

But don't take our word for it. Here is what students are saying about our YTT programs at Yoga Hive...

Prior to taking Yoga Hive's Online YTT, I had a fear of not being good enough, of not doing enough yoga to qualify, and a fear of not being thin enough. I'm so glad I signed up... The online was not a barrier because the wealth of knowledge and broad topics extending beyond asana came across virtually.  I would definitely recommend the training. Believe in your instincts that you have been drawn to Yoga Hive for a reason!
— Jennifer T., Summer 2020 Online

The Yoga Hive YTT has truly changed my life. I could not have imagined how much I would evolve during the training. I have learned to love myself again and to be grateful for my life. I also, now, respond from a still center, instead of reacting, when stressful situations occur in my life. I am excited to live each day and to continue to learn and grow and see where this journey takes me. I am eternally grateful for going through this experience.
— Melissa C., Spring 2020 Online

I think my biggest hesitation at first with Yoga Hive's YTT was my age (I was 58 when I signed up). Also, I really didn't think I wanted to teach yoga, so what would be the point? But then life happened in a big way, and when I read the outline for the training, I saw that it was about much more than learning how to sequence (teach) a class, and I knew it was exactly what I needed at exactly the right time. I think the biggest change I've noticed in my life since completing the training (changes that began even before the training, from reading the required texts) has been learning about what makes me, me. Good and bad. And giving me tools to deal with the stressors of life. And of course, developing a daily devotional practice.
— Suzanne V., Late Winter 2020 Online

What type of yoga do we learn?

Our program is inspired by the Kriya Yoga lineage of Babaji, vinyasa styles of yoga, and Energy Medicine Yoga. Trainees will learn how to sequence their own classes utilizing a creative combination of these elements, at their own pace.

Although no one is expected to teach yoga post-graduation, we do put an emphasis on practice teaching so that the material becomes ingrained in each trainee.  We will experience many different styles, transitions and postures, and experiment with sequencing a gentle yoga class (slow pace), a Honey Flow (medium pace), and a Hive Flow (faster pace), and whether you intend to teach upon the conclusion of the program or you're taking it for professional development, rest assured you will feel confident with sequencing and teaching many different ability levels!

By the end of the training, you will have first-hand experience teaching a full yoga class, online using Zoom! This is the BEST way to culminate your training, and you'll also be learning a valuable skill to teach yoga online in the future, if you want to serve the world in this way!

Mollie Busby

E-RYT 500 and founder/owner of Yoga Hive Montana, Yoga Hive Wisconsin, and Arctic Hive
Picture
Mollie Busby is a driven entrepreneur with the spirit of a summer camp counselor and a kind, midwestern smile. Mollie is a seasoned yoga and meditation teacher and off-grid home builder with her husband, Sean. Although the pair now calls Alaska their home, they have deep roots in the Flathead Valley, and Mollie commutes back to Montana and Wisconsin to manage her two yoga studios.

Wherever they are, the Busbys choose to live close to the land off-the-grid and pursue their life’s work. The pair started Riding On Insulin, which Mollie ran as Executive Director for 7 years, until Sean took over in 2017. It was then that Mollie shifted much of her focus to Yoga Hive, and now, to Yoga Hive Studios, taking the brand beyond Montana. Yoga Hive is known for its inviting vibe, friendly instructors, and willingness to show anyone that yoga is for everybody and every body.

Regardless of the method, Mollie sees her purpose on this planet as cultivating community in small groups of women — whether in a yoga retreat setting or during the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings she runs in Montana, Colorado and beyond. She enjoys spending time outdoors skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer, and playing with their dogs all year round: Daisy (a Weimaraner), Glacier (Border Collie/Great Pyrenees Mix), Milo (husky/Shepard mix), Powder (Alaskan Husky) and Coldfoot, or Coldie for short (Alaskan Husky).

She and Sean have built a dynamic off-the-grid homestead in the heart of Whitefish, Montana, that’s been featured on HGTV, the DIY Network,  Discovery Channel, Yahoo News, Daily Mail, and more. They've also built off-grid homesteads in Homer, Alaska and now, Arctic Hive, Alaska.

Hailing originally from Wisconsin, Mollie brings to Montana her warm, midwestern hospitality mixed with a wide range of yoga training. Her teaching draws inspiration from the Baptiste Yoga community, Unnata Aerial Yoga, and a mix of Tantric Kriya and mantra-based meditation from Sattva Yoga Academy at the foothills of the Himalayas in India.

This unique mix gives her classes a magical feel, with a love for teaching the basics to anyone willing to learn, layered with a profound gift of teaching for transformation.

Accommodations:

Here at Arctic Hive, we have three cabins to keep you cozy warm during your stay with us — there are mountain views in every direction, and plenty of windows to see the wild landscape and the northern lights! Each cabin will be home to 2-3 attendees in twin or double beds (depending on the cabin). All cabins are off-grid, heated with Swedish Nordic oil stoves that keep the space warm and cozy , with solar/battery powered lighting, and old fashioned kerosene lamps. There is no cell phone reception from the cabins — although we do have access to service for emergencies.

We will provide nightly opportunities to charge minimal devices via generator or solar power, depending on the amount of sun we're receiving (such as your phone if you use it as a camera). It wouldn't be wise to bring larger electronics like computers, as they draw so much power from the small battery banks.
Picture
The cabins are located just a short walk up the hill from our Wilderness Lodge, a 20-foot diameter Fiberglass Insulated Igloo. There is one composting outhouse that's cleaned and attended to daily — along with a few designated "facility trees" in the woods. If you're inexperienced with either of these methods, our team will assure you're up to speed upon arrival!

The Igloo is where we'll practice yoga daily, and all props, including meditation chairs will be provided for you throughout the training. We'll practice at all times of the day, including the chance to experience yoga under the Northern Lights, as we practice underneath the three massive glass panels in this incredible structure.

Logistics:

COVID PROTOCOL:
  • Only 6 spots are available for this teacher training — you will share a cabin with 2-3 people.
  • Currently, the State of Alaska requires that everyone coming from outside Alaska into the state to show proof of a negative test received within three days of arrival. Regardless of whether the state still enforces this during the retreat, Arctic Hive will mandate that guests still present this proof — or present proof of a COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Depending on the current virus climate worldwide at the time of the retreat, you may be asked to wear a mask when we are sharing group spaces. Although we hope this won't be the case, we will do whatever necessary to keep our group safe while still experiencing the wild Alaskan north!

*If you do have a group of 3 traveling together willing to share 1 cabin, we will offer a 10% discount for each of the three attendees, pending space available at the time of booking.*
